Few would argue that the world is currently in a critical state of mess. Many would add that over the past several decades, problems seem to have escalated in both nature and rate of growth. Regardless of the hows and whys, especially from those who have led us down this path (with our ignorance and compliance), there is a much simpler and accessible way to address this matter.
Their IS a sovereign, independent community and culture of CANADA!
As Canadians, we can, and must, remind ourselves of what makes us Canadian (rustle up from sleep if necessary). The fact that importers methodically exploit the “Made In Canada” designation to mislead us into supporting them economically, is proof that Canadians DO still value the notion of “Canadian” and are willing to act consciously on their principles and beliefs.
It is unfortunate though (if not embarrassing) that our love of country and our pride in cultural values has been so easy to exploit. Shame on us. But, rather than blaming those who have paved the path we chose to walk, our future solutions rest solely in each and every one of us!
It’s time for INDIVIDUAL Canadians to take stock!
There is no shortage of rhetoric about what makes a nation great and its peoples noble in the world. In fact, most of those with political aspirations today (aka “agendas”) have been appealing to our sense of identity and pride with same vigour as those (FORMERLY Canadian enterprises) who continue to peddle fermented beverages and donuts to us.
There IS a shortage of PERSONAL responsibility!
We must ALL take personal stock of what we are dealing with from the levels and perspectives which matter to us as individual Canadians. But this vital evaluation does not require ANY degree in economics or political science. If you are a living breathing soul who calls Canada your home, YOU ARE QUALIFIED AND REQUIRED to make such an assessment!
Your measure of the state of our nation at home, and abroad, CAN, and should, be defined by YOUR terms.
Generalized talking points and abstractions of politicians have little practical value for MOST people. YOU define the BOTTOM LINE. YOUR issues and values are the important ones.
When our issues and values are shared, we enjoy strength in kindredness and numbers. And when our issues are very unique to us, it is our common Canadian value in helping those around us which accommodates ALL problems - including our distinct needs!
Before we can even begin to take the steps necessary to set our nation back on a sensible track, where PEOPLE are the stewards, we must first recognize and take pride in knowing that WE ARE THOSE PEOPLE!
